Visiting Artists

Stefan Amidon

Signal Pine PlaySchool offers a weekly hour-long music class to children during the school day. We have been offering this since opening in 2021. The children adore Stefan but please read on for a little more about his background:

Stefan Amidon grew up singing with his family at camps, festivals and school assemblies across the United States. He went to Oberlin Conservatory for Jazz Percussion and has performed extensively with bands such as the Sweetback Sisters and the Devil Makes Three, and choral groups Northern Harmony and the Starry Mountain Singers. Throughout his life Stefan always enjoyed working with children, and learned a lot from his parents, renowned music educators Peter and Mary Alice Amidon. He has been teaching music in Brattleboro at various schools in the area for a number of years now, and has reformed the Brattleboro Children's Choir. Using traditional tunes, songs, singing games and stories, Stefan engages with all ages and introduces children as early as possible to meaningful musical experiences.
